Merry After Christmas

Merry after Christmas everyone!! Christmas was wonderful, sharing with family and friends. I got a gift card from Michaels!! Ya hoo. You know what I did today? I used it of course. I had lots of fun at Michaels. Used lots of my 50% off coupons to save money. I hope everyone had a memorable Christmas.

Christmas Tree decorating...

will be tonight, and if I am really lucky, both girls will be home at the same time!! Wohoo!! In the past few years, work and other stuff has kept us from being together to decorate the tree, but I told the girls, tonight is the nite. Get out your Santa hats and the egg nog, we are there!!!

I have been blogging- ok what else is new? I am determined to get on a design team, so I am entering every one that is out there!!! I will amke it!!! I finally finished this layout that started out to be quick and simple and just didn't quite end up that way. I didn't like it, so I changed it, that took longer, but I did it. Now I must take a picture to share it!!

My new technique

I am so impressed with the kits from Scarlet Lime and in the kit they included muslin and they showed how to make a flower. I have never done that before, so i tried it. It is so cool!!

Dollar Store Madness

I officially have the dollar store fever. If I am travelling about town and I see a Dollar Tree, Dollar General or Big lots, I stop, because you never know what scrapbooking treasures you will find. A few weeks ago I was at big lots and passed on Thickers black felt alphabet. What was I thinking??? Today I found a few treasures at Dollar Tree.....

Blog madness...

I had blog madness today. I went from blog to blog, some of them offering eye candy, which of course I signed up for!!! Cool ideas as well!! I tried out for another design team. Guess I am getting brave??!! This time for Shabbychick Memories. Crossing my fingers!!

Is it November already?

I can't believe it is November. Probably because I live in New Orleans and we really haven't had any cold weather, just a few cool days and since we had the threat of a hurricane, it is hard to think about winter coming!! I went thru all my old layout the other day and discovered some really beautiful layouts that didn't have any bling...gotta have that! I pulled and few out and decorated them. It really helped. It is a great way to see how styles have changed. I use to be a "paper scrapper", and end up with 10 lbs of paper on a layout- lol. Now I need to figure out how I am going to use all those metal accents I bought years ago and haven't used....

Breat Cancer Awareness Month

October is National Breast Cancer awareness month, but honestly, every month should be. Girls, start early, do self breast exams and mamos after 40. My mom was one of the lucky ones, she found out early and had her breasts removed.

i have been scrapping so much lately that I hit a roadblock. No more mojo. I guess i need to take a break. It is time to hit other blogs to get some inspiration.

I entered my first challenge on Scrapbook Heaven. This is big for me. My first ever challenge. There will be more to come!!

This is a first

I never thought I would create a blog, but here goes...Who am I? A wife to a wonderful husband of nearly 25 years... A mother to two daughters in college...A mother to an adorable 8 yo black lab (the other male love of my life) and staff to two cats. (Dogs have masters, cats have staff!!)...A Project Coordinator for an IT firm who has the most wonderful job in the world...and of course a scrapper.

I have been scrapping for over 6 years, I started out swapping on scrapbook.dom and learned so much from very talented ladies. My dream is to be on a design team. My scrapbooking style is anything I can be. I love to draw color out from a picture and create from there. I love to learn, I love to look and see what others are doing because there is such a wealth of information and talent.
